JESS EVANSPOSTPARTUM DOULA

Postpartum doulaSunshine Coast

Let yourself be mothered too.

I'm Jess, a Sunshine Coast mum of two. I learned the hard way that a gentle postpartum needs three things: deep rest, nourishing food and help you can say yes to. I bring all three into your home, and shape every visit around what you need that day.

Every visit includes

Care for you, not just your baby

Every mum needs something different. Some want company, a coffee and a chance to talk through their birth. Some need a trusted pair of hands with the baby so they can shower, sleep or just have some time alone. Some just want the laundry on and the kitchen clean. I'm there for whatever you need that day.

A family meal and snacks for the week

Home-cooked, nourishing food left ready for you, plus snacks you can eat one-handed.

Rest while I hold the baby

Baby care so mum and dad can sleep, shower or simply sit down for a while.

Feeding support

Breastfeeding, bottle or combination: practical advice and encouragement.

Settling help and education

Learn your baby's cues and settling techniques that suit your family.

Light household duties

Unpacking the dishwasher, washing dishes, putting the laundry on, stripping beds.

Gentle bodywork

A head or foot massage, or a light facial. Your body has done something huge, and it deserves care too.

Debriefing your birth

Time and space to talk through your birth story, with someone who's listening.

Photos of these early days

Candid snaps of the everyday moments you'll want to remember.

Message support anytime

Text or voice-message questions between visits, and regular check-ins.

About me

Hi, I'm Jess

I'm a mum of two young boys, and my two postpartum experiences couldn't have been more different.

The first time, I wasn't prepared. I kept cooking, kept looking after everyone and never really rested. Feeding was a struggle, and the shift into motherhood felt hard and isolating.

The second time, I said yes to rest and yes to help. Friends and family kept us fed, I barely left my rocking chair, and those weeks were full of nourishment and joy. It changed everything.

Caring for people is how I show love, and I'm happiest in the kitchen cooking for a new mum. It's a privilege to be welcomed into your postpartum bubble, there to support you, nourish you and love you, so you can love yourself and your baby.

Questions

Frequently asked

What is a postpartum doula?

A postpartum doula supports the whole family in the weeks after birth. I offer practical help, such as baby care, meals and household tasks, along with emotional support and newborn education. I don't provide medical care, but I can refer you to the right professionals when needed.

When should I book?

Ideally during pregnancy, so your package is ready to start as soon as you're home. You're also welcome to get in touch after baby has arrived and I'll do my best to fit you in.

Where do you travel to?

I'm based in Bokarina and support families across the Sunshine Coast. Let me know where you are when you get in touch and we'll work it out together.

Can I have visits more than once a week?

Packages are designed around one visit a week. If you'd like more support, get in touch and we can talk about what's possible.

Do you cater for allergies and dietary needs?

Yes. I'm vegetarian myself, but I cook for every kind of diet. Let me know about any allergies, intolerances or preferences and I'll plan your meals and snacks around them.

Is this only for first-time parents?

Not at all. Second and third babies bring their own challenges, and I can help older siblings adjust to the new arrival too.
